FAQS

What Types of DNA Test Are Offered?

Legal Paternity Test
We highly recommend this particular test. If the child is below 18 years old, selecting this option is strongly advised. The results obtained can be presented in court to substantiate various legal matters, such as amending a birth certificate or obtaining child support orders, among others. Are you facing a situation where the alleged father has recently passed away?

  • We have the capability to utilize an FTA blood card sample or DNA sample from the deceased. Typically, these samples are collected by either the coroner or funeral home director. Please note that there is an extra charge associated with using an FTA blood sample card or DNA sample from a deceased individual. The results of this test can possibly be used for legal purposes, such as SSI or survivor benefits.

  • If the alleged father is incarcerated or has been deceased for a significant period (with the body inaccessible), but at least one of his parents is alive and available for testing, opting for a Grandparentage DNA Test is the optimal choice. Legal determination of paternity can be established through the confirmation of Grandparentage.

Non-Legal Peace of Mind Paternity Test
If you're simply looking for the truth and don't require a court-admissible paternity test, this is the perfect option for you.

  • Concerned About the Alleged Father's Awareness or Cooperation? If you prefer the alleged father not to know about the test or if he refuses to participate, we can still help.  Using items like a toothbrush, eating utensils, toothpicks, or fingernail/toenail clippings, we can conduct a DNA test. For pricing and instructions on how to preserve and ship these items to our lab, please call us at 601-738-5234.
